JAMES BURTON, DMD
3718 Old Forest Road
Growing up in a military family, Dr. Philippe Franco was raised pretty much everywhere. He was born in Germany, helped knock down the Berlin Wall and was able to enjoy living in and visiting the majority of the United States. With about 14 years of residency among Newport News, Richmond, and Lynchburg, he considers Virginia home. He had the pleasure of working in the marketing and advertising industry for several years before graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Dentistry.
Dr. Franco and his wife, Rebecca, are the proud parents to three strapping boys and a beautiful little girl. In the past, his hobbies included playing billiards, photography and traveling, well mostly eating various cuisines at out of country locations. Now his hobbies are his kids' hobbies: reading books, visiting museums, enjoying the outdoors, and teaching them everything he knows in the kitchen.
Born and raised in the Richmond area, Dr. James Burton received his undergraduate and Masters of Teaching degrees from the University of Virginia. He taught middle school for several years and worked in youth ministry before pursuing his dental education at the University of Louisville. Jimmy and his wife, Sarah, have two daughters. His family is regularly involved in the girls’ school activities as well as in church ministry.
Charity and mission work are very important to Dr. Burton both personally and professionally. He has served in the dental mission field of El Progresso, Honduras, and provides care to members of the local community through regular work at the Lynchburg Free Clinic and for children affiliated with the Patrick Henry Boys and Girls Home.
You may see him playing basketball at NCS or supporting one of his daughters on the soccer field, on the volleyball or basketball court, or in a theater production (occasionally, you can even find him on stage!). He is well-known for his warm personality, gentle manner, and exceptional dental skills.
